I ordered these lipsticks about two weeks ago and they finally arrived last week. I’ve been wanting some of these colours for ages so I’m very excited to be doing this review!
The packaging is OK considering the price. It’s not amazing, but it does the job. The only thing that bothers me, is that you can’t twist the lipstick all the way down (on these pictures the lipsticks are twisted all the way down). It makes you smudge the lipstick when you take the lid off, so that’s annoying.
I got the colours Dollhouse Pink, Pinkerbell and Cherry Picking. Dollhouse Pink is a very, very blue-toned pink. It is so blue-toned it’s almost lilac. Pinkerbell is a dupe of Viva Glam Nicki (which I don’t own) and it’s sort of in between a coral and a pink. Cherry Picking is precisely what the name suggests: a cherry red colour.
The lipsticks look a bit weird when you’ve just applied them, but once they settle into your lips a bit (after less than a minute) they start looking a little more natural, and not just like plastic lying on top of your lips. They last a very long time if you apply them full-on, and they won’t be completely gone after a meal but a touch-up won’t hurt. Cherry Picking did bleed into the lines around my lips a bit, but that’s nothing a little lipliner or a good blot won’t fix. None of the lipsticks have noticeable taste or smell.
Here is how my lips look without anything on them. The top photo is taken with flash, the bottom one without flash. I do think the photos without flash show the colours more as they actually are.
This is Pinkerbell on my lips. I love this colour, it’s very flattering on my skin tone and it sort of goes with my hair, so that’s a bonus. It’s a really fresh, light shade so I think this would be a lovely colour to wear during spring/summer.
Dollhouse Pink is really bright and vivid, so if you like very natural makeup this is not for you. But, if you want a show-stopping lipstick: this might be the one for you. Because it’s so bright it does make you look pale, so a little extra blush won’t hurt. I think this would also make a lovely spring/summer lipstick.
Cherry Picking is a gorgeous cherry red. It’s very pink, without actually being pink which makes it quite a unique colour. This is one of those colours that makes your teeth look a lot whiter, which is nice. I think this would make a great staple red lipstick for someone who likes pink-toned reds, but it’s also a great shade to wear in the fall/winter.
Verdict: Inexpensive. Not great packaging. Long lasting. Gorgeous colours. No taste or smell. Wet ‘n Wild does not test on animals.
